We know you can do it.

And we'll be cheering for you every step of the way.

Mighty Mujer Triathlon was founded in 2012 to open the sport for women of color by creating an inclusive, supportive experience with opportunities for women to learn new skills, ask questions, and find community. At Mighty Mujer Triathlon, women of diverse backgrounds, ages, sizes, and athletic abilities are challenged to set and reach new goals. We work to ensure that women of color see themselves, their mothers, their sisters, and their daughters in all we do. We celebrate the strength and spirit of both new and experienced triathletes. We share the joy of the finish line and acknowledge the challenges faced along the way. By centering underrepresented women, we aim to create a powerful space for women to discover and express their strength.

In 2012, the first Mighty Mujer Triathlon hosted 350 participants in El Paso, Texas.  Since then, the event has grown, and Mighty Mujer Triathlon has introduced thousands of women into the sport.  For many, the race has become a rite of passage and their gateway to active lifestyles and a renewed sense of community.  Longtime triathletes return each year to experience the Mighty Mujer Triathlon spirit, race a challenging course, and cheer for others along the way. With the additions of Tucson, Miami, and Austin (and other locations in the works!), Mighty Mujer Triathlon aims to change the face of triathlon and empower women triathletes every step of the way.
